TROPICAL WALKING TRACKS

Footloose Publications publish two full colour guidebooks of the walking trails in North Queensland, Australia. The 192 page 'North Queensland' book covers the full area, with maps and descriptions for over 190 paths, walking tracks and trails between Townsville and Cooktown. The book covers the World Heritage Wet Tropics Area, nearby islands in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the Atherton Tableland and the Gulf Savannah. The 48 page 'Cairns & Kuranda' book is an extract from the 'North Queensland' book. It covers all of the walking trails around Cairns and Kuranda, and costs less than a single page fold-out map. It provides maps and descriptions of all of the walks that visitors to Cairns can access and complete within a day. The "Sample Walk" link below gives you a chance to have a sneak preview of the book. It is a low resolution .pdf of a typical map and the description that accompanies it.
Footloose also distribute the 'Rainorest Frogs of the Wet Tropics, north east Queensland' for Conrad Hoskin and Jean Marc Hero, of Griffith University. This is a complete guide to the frogs of the World Heritage rainforest, an ideal reference book for anyone exploring the Wet Tropics.
