Rainforest Frogs of the Wet Tropics

north-east Australia

This book is a complete guide to the 33 species of frog found in the World Heritage region of north-east Queensland. This field guide includes an easy-to-use key for identification and an up-to-date account for each species. All species are illustrated with at least two photos. A great companion for anyone wishing to know what that frog is and what it does.

Dr Conrad Hoskin (Australian National University) and Dr Jean-Marc Hero (Griffith University, Gold Coast) are both scientists who have conducted extensive research on Wet Tropics frogs.

Dr Conrad Hoskin won the 2009 ABRS Eureka Prize for his work. The text below is a quote from the ABRS Eureka Prize website:

A number of high-quality entries were received this year from young species discovery scientists. However, it was the scope, achievements and dedication of Dr Conrad Hoskin's work in the field of Herpetology that impressed the judges most.
The award was presented to Dr Hoskin at a ceremony in Sydney by Chris Darwin, the great-great-grandson of Charles Darwin. 2009 marks the 200 th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150 th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species , Darwin's seminal work on evolutionary biology.

Proceeds from the sale of this book go to frog research.
